IPFonline Limited (IPF), one of India's most acclaimed trade information and service provider of Industrial and Engineering Products today announced the launch of Renewable Energy India Forum (REIF). The vision behind REIF is to provide a platform for showcasing the promotion of renewable energy in India and elsewhere, by showcasing the latest products (and processes) in renewable energy, thus developing the biggest online cluster for the sector in the world.

Marking the beginning of this pioneering effort, Renewable Energy India Forum hosted their first conference devoted to 'Solar Energy' at The LaLit in New Delhi. This event will be followed by similar conventions on Wind, Bio-Energy and Hydropower respectively, spanned across FY 10-11 and Solar 2011 conference. The first conference on Solar Energy is become the benchmarking conference in solar energy sector.

The objective of the 'Solar 2010' conference organised under the Renewable Energy India Forum was to focus on the challenging issues and opportunities available in the country for Solar Energy. The first day of the conference witnessed leading Solar Energy Experts, Industry Leaders, Private & Govt. Financial Institutions, Technology Experts and Nodal Agencies like Shri. Bibek Bandyopadhyay, Advisor & Head, Solar Energy Centre, MNRE; Shri S P Gon Choudhury, CMD, WBGEDCL; Mr. Jason Donovan, First Secretary, Energy, US Embassy; Shri H D Khunteta, Director, REC . Mr. Amit Shah, Co-Chairman and Director, Astonfield Renewables Inc., Mr. Mahendra Swarup, President, Indian Venture Capital Association, Ms Sumita Misra, Director, HAREDA, Indo-German Development Cooperation in the Energy Sector; Mr. Rajiv Jain, Associate Director, India Semiconductor Association, Dr. Pardeep Chaturvedi, Chairman, Indian Association for the Advancement of Science, Acciona Energy India; Shri B V Rao, General Manager (TS), IREDA, Mr. Alok Nigam, VP Business Development, Lanco Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Adam R Smith, MD Solar Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Dr. R K Bhogra, Ex GM and Head ASSCP, Mr. Jayant Deo CEO & MD IEX, Dr. Mohan Bhan, VP, Moser Baer, Dr. Debajit Palit, TERI exchange their views, knowledge and expertise in the solar energy sector. Issues like financial feasibility and technical gullibility's of solar power production, analysis of the of the Solar Equipment Manufacturing in India aligned to its global counterparts, and evaluation of required level of skilled manpower development to support the process was discussed. Solar conference was concluded with Panel Discussion on the theme "Developing A Roadmap for Grid Parity by 2022".

Commenting on the initiative Mr. Linus Lobo, COO, IPFonline limited said, "A parallel utilization of renewable resources like solar, wind, bio-mass along with conventional energy is necessary to meet the current need- gap for energy. At the same time there is a huge untapped market for products harnessing renewable energy which is silently growing in our own backyard.
